Feel into the tea culture and open yourself up to a Japanese elegant world

This hall was opened in April of 1994 with the hope to people experience tea culture more light-heartedly. The basement Seiyu Hall holds approximately 200 people; the 2nd floor is home to an exhibition room, tea ceremony room (table-and-stool style) and tea service lobby; the 3rd floor has several large and small meeting rooms. In the permanent exhibition, seasonable tea utensils of the head of the Omotesenke school are exhibited on the 2nd floor, will watch the picture on chanoyu for your request in the 3rd floor.
Every year in autumn a special exhibition is held for two months. These have tea themes that include lectures in Japanese on the tea culture and its relationship with food, clothing and housing, so that the general public can get a better idea of what the tea ceremony is all about. In addition, in any event at the hall, visitors of both the permanent exhibition and special exhibitions and several lectures are always welcome to enjoy the matcha tea on offer in the 2nd floor lobby.
